Peking Art Deco

In the 1920’s, the prime period of Art Deco carpets, some of the finest if not the best pieces were made in China. This beautifully balanced, both with respect to design and color, superb carpet was made in Peking by a major workshop. The depth of the sea-blue ground has been enhanced with age and give a sense of “fluidity”, where the flower blossoms seem to be “floating” on its surface. The single beige botanical border is a perfect frame for this wonderful work of art. In superb condition.
