Karakecili Cicim

The cicim is a complex weaving technique, involving a complicated combination of flat and embroidery interlocking of the weft and warp yarns. The number of cicims that have survived is extremely small compared to normal kilims. This particular piece is small, very carefully executed and in very good condition. All these elements, prove that it was made for personal use and treasured for over a century.
