Karabagh Kilim

Compared to other Caucasian kilims, the Karabagh surviving samples are quite scarce.Made in the southern Transcaucasian mountainous villages, these kilims have a powerful palette, accompanied by ancient motifs. The one in our collection, made during the last quarter of the 19^th century, is exceptional mainly because of its black ground, the dense and wonderful motif formation, the full of movement vine border and finally due to its exceptional condition of preservation.
