Art Deco

In 1920 and for a couple of decades, the well-known Art Deco movement became a very special branch in carpet manufacture. The best ever such pieces were made in China and were exported to the whole western world. Their common characteristics are the fine, very silky wool, the bright, stand out colors and of course the typical “art deco flowery” designs. Nevertheless, a very small number of pieces, except for the silky wool, do not follow the same path. These were mostly made between 1920 and 1925 and are the best in every way. Like our present carpet, they are very elegant in design and have a more “modest” palette. Such carpets can decorate superbly any contemporary space, creating a unique atmosphere, which connects the present with the past.
