Lavar Kirman

The city of Kirman in S.E. Persia, has been one of the major carpet manufacturing centers since the 16th century. Some of the most historic and important carpets have been produced there, influencing several other areas and cultures with their magnificent designs and colors.
During the mid19th century up until the 1920’s the city of Lavar had attracted some of the most famous carpet designers, dyers and producers, resulting in the production of some superb carpets both artistically and technically. Ours is a fine example of this era and with its wonderful heraldic motifs and superb teal ground color, captivates the eye of the viewer.
