This superb end of the 19^th century carpet is one of the best representative pieces of its kind. From as far back as the 15^th century, Ushak rugs were the most popular carpets for the European market. Turkey’s most exported carpets were from this area, and were meant to decorate palaces, mansions, even churches. Our piece has an elegant jewel-like medallion, surrounded by a most attractive coral read ground, which is enhanced by a spacious sand-colored border.An exceptional carpet with features, the quality of which we very rarely come across.
