Bidjar Bidjar Bidjar Bidjar

Inhabited mainly by Kurds, the western provinces of Persia were far less affected by conquests and historic upheavals which afflicted the urbanized districts during the 18th century. As a result, the continuity of the Persian carpet tradition was least interrupted by external influences. At the same time, these regions were at the forefront of the revival of crafts which followed the return of peace and prosperity in the 19th century.

This oversize magnificent, end of the 19th century Bidjar, has an important provenance, since it decorated once the main lounge of a German schloss (castle). It belongs to the “overall design” types and demonstrates the beauty of the “Garus” motif, in the best possible way.
