Tashkent Suzani

The best known Suzanies of the 19^th century made in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, are the ones who share a common feature, that of a large or small round red blossom, better known as “Moon Suzanies”. This particular embroidery, made during the second half of the 19^th century, bears 20 large such motifs and 12 smaller ones, surrounded by a narrow border covered with a single row of carnations. In perfect condition with excellent quality silk and vibrant colors.
