Bea Bonafini – Silent Strenghts

The hand-tufted bamboo silk rug, Silent Strengths, is made in collaboration to Soutzoglou Carpets. This innovative design, handmade in the traditional way, stem from the artist’s painting processes and practice, which were adapted and transformed to be translated into rug form.

The work confronts the viewer with swirling bodies, fantastical figures, dissolving in a pool of multiplicity – an imagery populated by evanescent silhouettes that recall the primordial while gently situating the observer in a surreal atmosphere where aesthetic sensitivity intersects material possibilities of craftsmanship.
